We know that our people are our biggest asset. That is why we take the time and effort to ensure they feel appreciated for the unique contribution they make. The way in which we reward them is important. But real rewards go far beyond a competitive remuneration and benefits package. It is also about being supported in day-to-day life, and helping them to develop in their role and when new opportunities arise.
Our approach to learning and development is based on a two-way commitment. We are committed to encouraging each and every employee to participate in relevant learning activities, and, in return, we expect individuals to take responsibility for their own development and make the most of every learning opportunity. Against this supportive backdrop, we have created a culture that strives for continuous improvement, where effort is recognised, achievement is rewarded and success is celebrated. This makes for a very positive working environment where everyone can realise their full potential and work towards their own career goals.
In Adult Community Services, there are a number of routes for Social Workers to develop their career within OP/PD, subject to future learning and development. These include a range of formal post-qualifying training opportunities, and there is also the chance to move into specialised areas of work within the Safeguarding team. The team benefits from regular supervision and appraisals, which are our way of ensuring individual development objectives meet personal needs and aspirations.
