Job Title: Social Worker
I am a Social Worker within the Children and Families Safeguarding Team. Day to day, I work directly with families to ensure better child protection and reduce any risks to their overall wellbeing. Some families face a lack of support when they are experiencing emotional difficulties and relationship breakdowns, and this is where I step in to get people and services communicating better.
Before coming to the beautiful Devon, I was working as a Social Worker in the Referral and Assessment team in London Borough of Enfield. Since then, I have carried out lots of training in domestic violence, sexual abuse, drugs and alcohol, recognising risk and ABE. Equally, there was, and still is, a great deal of support on offer. The guidance and authorisation on case management has been invaluable, and team discussions are also extremely beneficial. But the best part of my job? Getting to work with some really friendly and enthusiastic people. It’s even worth the paperwork at the end of the day!
