Qualified Childcare Social Workers
£29,236-£32,800 pa pro rata | Throughout Devon
For some of the 164,000 children and young people living in our idyllic county, life isn’t always as perfect as it seems. Which is why, as one of the most progressive authorities in the country, we strive for excellence in ensuring that every single one of them has the best possible start in life.
Wherever they live, whatever their circumstances and unique needs, all children need our dedicated support and unwavering commitment to help them build better lives. Don’t for a minute imagine that this is easy and that Devon is a land of cream teas and beaches, where problems are few and far between. The county’s diverse geography, from inner city to isolated village, ensures that we have the full spectrum of social work issues and challenges. And that’s why we’re looking to recruit to both mainstream children’s work and specialist posts within the following teams:
- Safeguarding.
- Children in Care & Care Leavers (including Fostering and Adoption).
- Assessment and Early Intervention.
- Joint Agency Service.
Our child care teams are experienced, well established and supported, with a firm commitment towards working across multiple agencies to improve outcomes for children in Devon. Working together and collaborating with key agencies is important to us and we’re proud of our work with the Devon Children’s Trust and its partners.
We’ll make sure your caseloads are manageable, and that you have the resources, guidance and support you need to do your job. You will also benefit from a clear training and development strategy (which includes the Child Care Award). GSCC registration is essential; you will also be required to undergo an enhanced CRB disclosure.
As well as excellent benefits, relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates.
