Devon Children's Trust
The Devon Children’s Trust, one of 35 Pathfinder Trusts in the country, is a partnership between statutory and voluntary agencies which provides services to children in Devon. The Trust draws its strength from the blend of priorities and perspectives from across the private, voluntary, and independent sectors, and is making excellent progress in developing key initiatives which will facilitate integrated front-line service delivery:
Children’s Centres: developing integrated multi-disciplinary services that provide personalised, local support to children under 5 years old, and their families
Extended Services: reshaping the delivery of services in and around schools to best meet the needs of communities
AXS Programme (or Child Concern Pathway): Devon’s approach to implementing the Every Child Matters: Change for Children Agenda
These initiatives, and others like them, are underpinned by the Every Child Matters: Change for Children Agenda, which identifies five outcomes that are universal ambitions for every child and young person:
- Be healthy
- Stay safe
- Enjoy and achieve
- Make a positive contribution
- Enjoy economic well-being
Working in an integrated way enables us to maximise our opportunities to give all children and young people in Devon the best possible start. It defines the purpose and the function of Children and Young People’s Services and Devon Children’s Trust.
